Love and Time
Once upon a time.
كان يا ما كان
In an island there lived all the feelings and emotions: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to them that the island would sink! So all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.
في جزيرةٍ عاشتْ فيها جميعُ المشاعر و العواطف: السعادة و الحزن، و المعرفة و كل المشاعر و العواطف الأخرى متضمنةً الحب، أعلنَ لهم في يومً من الأيام بأن الجزيرة سوف تغرق ! لذلك قام الجميع بتشييد القوارب ثم غادروا . باستثناء الحب.
Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.
أراد الحبُّ الصمودَ لآخرِ لحظةٍ ممكنة.
When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.
عندما كادت الجزيرة أنْ تغرق، قررّ الحبّ أن يطلب المساعدة.
Richness was passing by Love in a boat. Love said,
"Richness, can you take me with you?"
كان الغنى ماراً بجانب الحبِّ بقاربٍ. فقال الحب: " أيها الغنى، هل تقلّني معك؟"
Richness answered, "Sorry Love, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat and so there is no place here for you."
أجابهُ الغنى : " آسف أيها الحبّ ، لا استطيع .هناك الكثيرُ من الذهبِ و الفضّة في قاربي و لذلك لا يوجد مكانٌ لك هنا."
Love next asked Vanity who was also sailing by. Vanity was also ready with the same answer.
سأل الحبّ بعدها الغرورَ الذي كان مبحراً بجانبهِ لكنهُ كان جاهزاً ليردّ بنفسِ الجوابِ
"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.
" لا أستطيع مساعدتك أيها الحبّ، أنت مبللٌ بالكامل و ربّما تضرّ قاربي." أجاب الغرور.
Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, take me along with you."
كان الحزن يقترب، لذلك سأله الحبّ:" أيها الحزن، خذني معك طولاً."

في جزيرةٍ عاشتْ فيها جميعُ المشاعر و العواطف: السعادة و الحزن، و المعرفة و كل المشاعر و العواطف الأخرى متضمنةً الحب، أعلنَ لهم في يومً من الأيام بأن الجزيرة سوف تغرق ! لذلك قام الجميع بتشييد القوارب ثم غادروا . باستثناء الحب.

أراد الحبُّ الصمودَ لآخرِ لحظةٍ ممكنة.

عندما كادت الجزيرة أنْ تغرق، قررّ الحبّ أن يطلب المساعدة.

كان الغنى ماراً بجانب الحبِّ بقاربٍ. فقال الحب: " أيها الغنى، هل تقلّني معك؟"

أجابهُ الغنى : " آسف أيها الحبّ ، لا استطيع .هناك الكثيرُ من الذهبِ و الفضّة في قاربي و لذلك لا يوجد مكانٌ لك هنا."
Love next asked Vanity who was also sailing by. Vanity was also ready with the same answer.
سأل الحبّ بعدها الغرورَ الذي كان مبحراً بجانبهِ لكنهُ كان جاهزاً ليردّ بنفسِ الجوابِ

" لا أستطيع مساعدتك أيها الحبّ، أنت مبللٌ بالكامل و ربّما تضرّ قاربي." أجاب الغرور.
Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, take me along with you."
كان الحزن يقترب، لذلك سأله الحبّ:" أيها الحزن، خذني معك طولاً."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!", sadness said in a sullen voice.
" أوه .....أيها الحب ’ أنا حزينٌ جداً و أريد أن أختلي بنفسي ! " قال الحزن ذلك بصوتٍ نكد .
Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so preoccupied with her happiness that she did not even hear when Love called her.
مرّت السعادة بجانب الحبّ أيضاً ، لكنها كانتْ مشغولة البالٍ بحيث لم تتمكن حتّى من سماعِ الحبِّ لها.
Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. An overjoyed Love jumped up into the boat and in the process forgot to ask where they were going. When they arrived at a dry land, the elder went her own way.
فجأةً، كان هنالك صوتٌ ما:" تعالِ أيها الحب، سآخذك معي." لقد كان الأكبر سناً .قفز الحب المبتهجُ إلى القاربِ و نسي أن يسأل إلى .أين يمضي الموكب السائر . عندما وصلوا إلى أرض جافة، ذهب الأكبر سناً في طريقه الخاص.
Realizing how much was owed to the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who helped me?"
"It was Time," Knowledge answered.
سأل الحبّ المعرفة، و هي مسنّةٌ أيضاً، مدركاً كم هو مدين لذلك الكبير في السن " من الذي ساعدني ؟"
" إنه الوقت ." أجابت المعرفة .
" أوه .....أيها الحب ’ أنا حزينٌ جداً و أريد أن أختلي بنفسي ! " قال الحزن ذلك بصوتٍ نكد .

سأل الحبّ المعرفة، و هي مسنّةٌ أيضاً، مدركاً كم هو مدين لذلك الكبير في السن " من الذي ساعدني ؟"
" إنه الوقت ." أجابت المعرفة .
"Time?" thought Love. Then, as if reading the face of Love, Knowledge smiled and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."
" الوقت ؟" فكرّ الحب . فوراً و كأن المعرفة تقرأا وجه الحب، ابتسمتْ و أجابتْ: " لانّ الوقتَ وحدهُ هو القادر على تفهّم كم أن الحبّ ثمين."
" الوقت ؟" فكرّ الحب . فوراً و كأن المعرفة تقرأا وجه الحب، ابتسمتْ و أجابتْ: " لانّ الوقتَ وحدهُ هو القادر على تفهّم كم أن الحبّ ثمين."
